COMPLAINT!

This complaint is directed to the Le Cordon Bleu location in Las Vegas, NV and not all Le Cordon Bleu campuses.

I tried to sign up with Le Cordon Bleu Culinary program. At the time, the program was only 9 months long and $19,500. I toured the school with an admissions representative and had all my funding in place. I qualified for the government grant of approximately $6,000, then I was going to pay the difference with a government loan.

I'm very disapponted that I never was never able to attend this school because Le Cordon Bleu would not allow me to attend.

The reason I was not able to attend was because the school wanted an additional $50 cash to pay for the application fee. I didn't have the money to pay the $50, as I qualified for the government for the school. The admissions representative(female named Tawny) insisted that I give her the $50 for the application fee. I asked for a waiver because I don't have $50, and I told her that if she will waive the $50 then I will sign up right now because I have all my funding in place. She said NO, the only waiver available is if you are Indian or married to a military. I didn't fall into either one of those categories.

I tried to resolve the $50 waiver, by calling and speaking to the campus President, Lachlan Sands and asking him to waive the $50. He said No because I don't qualify for the $50 fee waiver. I tried to explain to him that Le Cordon Bleu is going to get $20,000 if he would just waive the $50 application fee. He did not care. He was very cold hearted and mean. I wanted so much to attend Le Cordon Bleu, but Lachlan Sands made it impossible for me to attend.

Mr. Sands also refused to tell me how many students students I would be studying with in each class.

I asked Mr. Lachlan Sands what I would be learning. He said the law says he's not allowed to tell me what I'll learn or how many students are in each class, so he refused to tell me and refused to answer any questions. I rephrased my sentence and asked him "what will the program will teach me"?, instead of "what will I learn?" He still refused to tell me, repeating that the federal government won't allow him to tell me.

Getting information out of him was like pulling teeth. He said that federal law forbids him from giving information to students and all students have to go online and view the disclosures online. I asked him where online? He answered me by saying, "online." He wouldn't tell me. He refused to give me any information about the program. He made it impossible for me to sign up.

After speaking to Lachlan Sands, he made me not want to attend the program even if the $50 was waived. He said he's the Chef and one of the instructors of the program. I figured if he teaches his class the same as he speaks to prospective students, then he will just tell me to look up the answer in a cookbook and not teach the students.

I called back a few months later to give one more try at signing up. They still refused to waive the $50 application fee for indigent students and this time they cancelled the 9 month certificate program and they only offer the 21 month associate program. I was very very disappointed, as I really wanted to attend the 9 month course. I was told by the admissions rep that they raised the 9 month course to a 12 month course, but they no longer offer the 12 month course either.

Solution to the problem:
I feel this culinary program should only be a 9  months, and 21 months is way too long, and even the 12 month program was too long. 9 months is long enough.
I think, Lachlan Sands, the President of the school is a disgusting human being for treating indigent people bad. He should waive the $50 application fee for indigent students when the government pays their tuition.

I really wanted to attend Le Cordon Bleu. I've always wanted to go to cooking school ever since I was a little girl. Always.

Lachlan Sands is a disgusting human being and a bad person. He definitely doesn't believe in helping indigent students in need. He only believes in making his own wallet fatter with money. He destroyed a girl's hopes of attending culinary school over $50.00
